Belgium condemns West Bank diplomat attack
Belgium strongly condemns the attack carried out by Israeli settlers against European diplomats in the village of Al-Taybeh in the West Bank, where a French mayor was assaulted and a Belgian vehicle was damaged. It was confirmed that the Belgian team is safe. Belgian Foreign Minister Maxim De Croo emphasized that Palestinians face daily violence, and that settlers target journalists and diplomats. He called for Israeli protection for Palestinians and for those responsible for the attacks to be held accountable. Belgium has pledged to continue urging the European Union to impose sanctions on those responsible for acts of violence committed in the context of Israel's illegal settlement policies.
