Israeli raids and detentions of Syrians

On the dawn of February 16, 2026, Israeli occupying forces raided the home of the Syrian families Ali and Hamza in Ghadir al-Bustan village, arresting them despite both being subjected to beatings and police dog bites during the raid. United Nations documentation and human rights activists confirmed Israel's detention of at least 49 Syrians, including 34 still in custody, amid numerous cases of enforced disappearance and torture within prisons. Additionally, 69 people have been killed at the hands of the occupation since the fall of the Assad regime. Syrian families are suffering from the uncertainty surrounding the fate of their loved ones, amid calls from the Syrian government and the international community for urgent action to secure their release.
