Iraqi groups hit by financial crisis

Iraqi armed factions are facing a financial crisis due to U.S. sanctions targeting their leaders, while they continue to pay their members' salaries, which are supported by the government through the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). Reports indicate that the economic pressure has led Iran-backed groups to withhold salaries from their fighters and redirect funds to Tehran, although faction members are still receiving their salaries regularly. On the field, an explosion inside a PMF headquarters in Baghdad resulted in one death and five injuries, caused by an explosion of stored damaged equipment.
