Russian diesel shipment to US takes 15-20 days
A Russian official stated that it will take between 15 to 20 days to ship Russian diesel to the American market once the contracts are signed, which are currently being negotiated. This comes as part of an agreement between Moscow and Washington aimed at lowering fuel prices ahead of the November midterm elections, even though the allocated quantity in the initial phase (2.22 million barrels per day) is only enough to cover half of the United States’ daily diesel consumption, which amounts to 3.9 million barrels. It is expected that the agreement will facilitate the introduction of Russian fuel into the U.S. market within three weeks after the contracts are signed.
