Bomb threat prompts emergency landing in Sofia
On Sunday, Austrian Airlines Flight, carrying 57 people from Tel Aviv to Vienna, made an emergency landing in Sofia after receiving a bomb threat warning. Bulgarian authorities clarified that the aircraft, an Airbus A320 scheduled to depart Tel Aviv at 6:40 PM, diverted its course and landed in Sofia at 9:25 PM after the crew received the threat signal during the flight. A fighter jet accompanied the plane until its landing, and passengers were subsequently evacuated. The investigation to determine the details of the report is ongoing. This incident follows a previous event involving the rerouting of an Ethiopian Airlines flight due to a passenger holding Indonesian nationality, and an alleged attempt at a terrorist attack targeting a Fly Dubai flight to Tel Aviv a few weeks ago.
