French Interior Minister explains resignation
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced his resignation, explaining that he bears responsibility for everything happening on the ground in France, especially in light of the protests and acts of violence that erupted due to rising prices and declining public services. He admitted to shortcomings in expectations and indicated that the police lost control in some cities, with groups from the far left and criminal elements involved in the violence, which resulted in the death of a protester, around a thousand police officers injured, and the arrest of 2,400 people. These protests are among the most violent in recent years, featuring clashes, fires, store lootings, and the destruction of public facilities, amid a wave of anger and shame faced by President Macron and the government.
