Egypt Parliament to Discuss Saudi Support Next Week

The Egyptian House of Representatives announced the resumption of discussions regarding President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's request for authorization to support Saudi Arabia in defending itself. A debate session is scheduled for next week. This comes after Sisi confirmed that Egypt is prepared to undertake any measures Saudi Arabia requests to protect its security and sovereignty, amid increasing tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis following attacks on Riyadh Airport and Saudi responses with strikes in Yemen. These developments occur amidst warnings from the Houthi movement in Yemen that Egypt's possible involvement could threaten its national security and internal stability.
