CAF confirms USM Alger through withdrawal
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) officially announced that USM Alger has qualified for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after Guinea’s The Panthers withdrew due to financial difficulties. This led to the cancellation of the second qualifying round matches, and the Algerian team was considered to have advanced without playing the match. This comes after USM Alger's management had confirmed that they had not received any official notification of the match's cancellation before CAF confirmed the decision, providing the team with the opportunity to prepare well for the group stage and to benefit from the extra time to get ready for the upcoming phase.
