Chinese poetry fosters cultural ties in Riyadh

A Chinese poetry recitation competition was held in Riyadh in 2026, aiming to promote cultural understanding between Saudi Arabia and China through student engagement with Chinese literature and poetry. The winners were students who recited poems about hope and connection between the two civilizations. The event demonstrated that learning the Chinese language extends to music and literature, and helps strengthen cultural relations and the exchange of traditions between the two countries. This initiative is part of an expanded effort to teach the Chinese language in Saudi Arabia starting from 2024, with the goal of encouraging young people to explore aspects of Chinese culture and to deepen the ties between the two peoples.
