Cuba Condemns US Warrant for Raúl Castro

The Cuban government condemned the arrest warrant issued by the state of Florida against Raúl Castro, considering it a political ploy linked to the siege imposed by Washington on Cuba. Cuban authorities described the measures as baseless political maneuvers that are part of a broader political targeting. They emphasize that this step reflects the difficulties the United States faces in justifying its sanctions against the Cuban people. Florida had announced an arrest warrant for Castro (95 years old) on charges of conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the downing of two civilian aircraft in 1996, which Havana considers an act of self-defense.
