Brigitte Macron's chocolate under police protection

The article discusses the widespread protests in France that led to violence and looting. Police deployed six vehicles to protect a chocolate shop owned by the First Lady Brigitte Macron's family in the city of Amiens, amid sharp criticism and complaints about the insufficient protection provided to numerous shops and citizens. Public dissatisfaction in France was reflected in some shop owners expressing their readiness to defend their establishments due to the authorities' inability to maintain order. Politicians, including the leader of the "OUI France" party and police unions, voiced their discontent over the concentration of police forces around non-essential facilities and the neglect of the broader situation. Some analyses suggest that these protests reflect a deep political and economic crisis in the country, highlight the current government's failure to address revolts, and raise fears of a larger internal escalation.
