Gaza faces winter floods threatening 950,000 displaced

The United Nations has reported that approximately 950,000 displaced people in the Gaza Strip are living in flood-prone areas ahead of the winter season, with living conditions deteriorating due to a lack of shelters and food aid caused by a funding crisis. More than 400,000 displaced persons reside in high-risk areas, and 294,000 families are in need of shelter support. However, current supplies only cover 18% of the needs, threatening widespread losses as infrastructure continues to deteriorate and the risks of flooding and severe weather increase.
