Sisi affirms support for Saudi without Yemen conflict

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi emphasized that Egypt's military effort to support Saudi Arabia is limited to defending the kingdom's lands and borders; it does not include offensive actions against Yemen. He clarified that Egyptian support aims to protect Saudi Arabia’s security and stability and is only to be deployed if Riyadh requests it. Sisi underscored that Arab national security is interconnected and must be integrated. This message was part of a written communication from Sisi to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, received by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, amid anticipation of Egyptian military assistance to Saudi Arabia in response to Houthi attacks since July. This comes within the framework of strengthening security relations and affirming Cairo’s support for Saudi efforts to defend its territory against Houthi threats.
