Ilhan Omar Discloses Tampered Immigration Documents During Search
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, a Democrat, confirmed that the search of her Washington home was unusual and lengthy, taking several hours. During the search, federal agents seized 17 items, including phones, notebooks, and an old camera. This search is part of an investigation into allegations concerning false promises made about her father's immigration status. However, Omar clarified that she obtained American citizenship legally in 2000 after fleeing Somalia in 1995, and that she is cooperating seriously with the investigation.
