China issues stamps for Long March anniversary

The China National Post issued a set of six commemorative stamps to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the "Long March" victory, an epic journey of escaping blockade and fighting for the survival of the Chinese Communist Party. The stamps depict significant events such as the Red Army's departure, the Battle of Xiangjiang River, the historic Zunyi Conference, and the Latsiku Pass Battle, alongside themes of unity among the forces and the perseverance of the march. The Long March represents a heroic story highlighting the Red Army’s sacrifices across difficult terrains and their fight against blockade in 1934, with pivotal moments in 1935 and 1936 that solidified the continuity of the revolution and opened pathways to the north. The set's face value amounts to 7.8 yuan, with 4.3 million sets to be issued over six months through postal outlets and online, spotlighting one of the most remarkable chapters in modern Chinese history.
