Kenya monitors 135 Ebola contacts
The World Health Organization and the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have announced that Nigeria and Uganda are monitoring the movements of a Ugandan woman infected with the Ebola virus, after she traveled to Uganda and Congo prior to her diagnosis. However, her travel to Congo has not been definitively confirmed. The countries are continuing their efforts to contain the outbreak, with authorities providing treatment and strengthening contact tracing. The data highlighted that the first case in Nigeria was a woman who returned to Abuja on October 3rd. The exact source of her infection remains unknown, as efforts to prevent the spread of the disease are ongoing.
