Melania Trump mediates Russia-Ukraine truce

Melania Trump successfully mediated a ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine in the city of Oleshky in southern Ukraine, set to begin on October 29. The agreement includes a temporary halt to all military operations to allow humanitarian aid to enter and civilians to be evacuated via a safe corridor. The city has been under Russian control since the start of the war in 2022. Before the conflict, its population was around 24,000, but currently, the number of residents remaining is between 1,700 and 2,000, with evaluation visits organized to assess needs and implement evacuation procedures. This truce comes after months of deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the city, which was classified as a "death trap" due to the blockade and shortages of supplies.
