Filipino remittances from Gulf reach $1.97B

Remittances from Filipino workers in the Gulf countries increased during the first four months of 2026 to $1.97 billion, compared to $1.89 billion in the same period of 2025, with the highest growth reported from the UAE at 4.82%. Saudi Arabia topped the list of countries sending remittances with $726.63 million, while Bahrain contributed the least at $86.06 million. Remittances from the Gulf accounted for 96.11% of the total Filipino workers' remittances in the Middle East and 41.50% of the overall Asian remittances, which amounted to $11.40 billion worldwide.
