Pakistan affirms Palestinian state as peace guarantee
Pakistan has reaffirmed that establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the region. Pakistan’s UN envoy, Dr. Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, called on the Security Council to take tangible steps toward a just peace, emphasizing the need to support Palestinian rights and affirming that sustainable peace cannot be achieved without an independent Palestinian state. He also expressed concern over the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, urging the international community to work together to restore hope and ensure security in the region.
