Amentou Haidar: Moroccan rule floods Sahrawi territories with drugs
The President of the Sahrawi Organization for the Defense of the Moroccan Occupation, Aminatu Haidar, confirmed that Morocco is conducting repressive campaigns against the Sahrawi people, including human rights violations and policies aimed at dismantling the social fabric through the spread of drugs and the marginalization of youth. These actions destroy their capacity to resist and lead to their migration in search of a better future. During her visit to Geneva, she called for international intervention to protect Sahrawi detainees, especially Nema Asfari, who is currently on a hunger strike. She also highlighted the targeting of human rights defenders amid the ongoing repression by the Moroccan regime. Her efforts underscore the increasing international efforts to confront the practices of the Moroccan occupation, which harm the civil and social rights of the Sahrawi people.
