Iran Declares Strait Mine Clearance Own Responsibility
Iran has confirmed that the responsibility for mine clearance and ensuring navigation in the Strait of Hormuz lies with it, rejecting any external parties' interference in this matter. This statement came in response to France and Oman announcing their collaboration with international partners to secure the strait through demining efforts. The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified that Iran sees no need for external intervention in managing the security of the strait, noting that a bilateral meeting between Iran and Oman has been held to enhance coordination regarding the security of this vital corridor. He also indicated that there are no current plans for new negotiations with the United States, while efforts continue regarding the issue of releasing Iranian assets that remain frozen.
