Algeria Begins Firefighting and Compensation

The Algerian Civil Protection services successfully extinguished all the wildfires that broke out since July 8, 2026, after intensive field efforts and coordination with the National People's Army. The army contributed in various ways, including machinery, bulldozers, and fire trucks, alongside efforts to evacuate residents. Authorities have begun the process of assessing damages with the aim of compensating those affected before the end of August. Committees have been formed at the regional level to evaluate physical, agricultural, and livestock damages. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune praised the heroic efforts of the workers and the military, affirming that Algeria will continue to prepare to protect lives, properties, and forest resources through rapid intervention.
