Bani Hamadan bans unlicensed water tankers
The Beni Hamidan Municipality in Constantine has prohibited the sale of water via unlicensed tanker trucks as a preventative measure following incidents of mass poisoning recorded in the Abdel Razzaq Bouharra neighborhood. The decision includes confiscating non-compliant vehicles for 30 days, aiming to protect public health and ensure compliance with legal requirements for water transportation. These measures come after health investigations into the pollution of urban water sources, which led to the revocation of the legal status of four natural sources, including springs in Didouche Mourad Municipality, after their contamination with coliform bacteria was detected. The goal is to ensure the safety of drinking water during the high-demand summer period.
