Algeria's Plan to Restore Security
Algeria assumed the rotating chairmanship of the African Union Peace and Security Council during August, guiding a work program focused on assessing the state of peace and security across the continent, monitoring crises and conflicts through field interventions, and enhancing coordination with other African Union bodies. The presidency aims to drive practical initiatives to address security challenges in a way that promotes stability and development in Africa. This approach is based on dialogue, prevention, and mediation, with particular attention to issues such as conflicts in Sudan, South Sudan, and the Sahel region, as well as the "Silencing the Guns" initiative. Additionally, efforts are being made to strengthen cooperation with the United Nations Security Council to support African interests.
