Firefighting efforts across six states
The Algerian Civil Protection services, in cooperation with the National People's Army, continue their efforts to extinguish seven wildfires across six states, including Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Annaba, Boumerdas, and Sétif. Tizi Ouzou is leading the scene with two fires in the municipalities of Ibekourn and Tizi N'Tlata. Intensified aerial support has been deployed, involving two aircraft of the type (AT802-06) and a (BE200) plane, along with ground support from the regional Bira detachment, aiming to control the fires threatening populated areas and agricultural lands. Firefighting teams in the other affected regions are working to contain and encircle the fires in Jijel, Annaba, Boumerdas, and Sétif amidst a state of maximum alert to ensure the protection of lives and property.
