Polisario Urges UN Action on Morocco
The representative of the Polisario Front at the United Nations, Ammar Sidi Mohammed, stated that the process of political settlement for the Western Sahara issue remains in its early stages, and that evaluating its outcomes is premature due to obstacles, particularly Morocco's refusal to reach a fair and lasting solution. He explained that the latest round of consultations between the parties was merely a declaration of intentions and did not demonstrate tangible progress, emphasizing that the right to self-determination for the Sahrawi people remains the foundation of negotiations. He called on the Security Council to adopt a more decisive stance to stop Morocco’s attempts to impose faits accomplis, affirming that the Sahrawi people are committed to their rights to freedom and independence.
