Italian cities back Sahrawi self-determination
Italian municipalities continue to affirm their ongoing support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination by hosting Sahrawi children in the "Holiday in Peace" program. These initiatives reflect European solidarity with the Sahrawi cause and reject any setbacks in the process of decolonization in Western Sahara. The reception activities included official ceremonies, celebrations of Sahrawi Culture Day, and cultural and artistic performances aimed at raising awareness of the Sahrawi people's rights, especially their right to freedom and independence, in accordance with international legitimacy decisions. These efforts demonstrate sustained civil and political solidarity in Italy and the international community's support for the Sahrawi people's demands to end Moroccan occupation and realize their right to self-determination.
