Boumerdes launches food poisoning prevention effort
The Directorate of Trade in Boumerdes is planning to organize a comprehensive campaign to prevent food poisoning, lasting until September 7, 2026. The goal is to raise public awareness and promote prevention during the summer, with a focus on strict monitoring of shops located on beaches and markets. The campaign includes field interventions and rigorous inspections, having recorded over 200 interventions since the start of the summer season, and the closing of 11 commercial outlets due to violations related to cleanliness and product safety. The campaign also aims to educate families and traders about the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their shops and inspecting product expiration dates. This initiative comes in the context of active commercial activity, with approximately 73,000 traders, emphasizing the importance of regulating commercial practices and protecting consumer health in tourist areas.
