Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf expressed Algeria's readiness to participate in any efforts to protect Jerusalem from Israeli occupation. This statement was made during a ministerial meeting held in Amman to address Israel's illegal policies in the holy city. The meeting focused on Israel’s escalating violations and assaults on Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as increased settler incursions. It called for collective political and diplomatic action to halt Israeli plans aimed at changing the demographic composition and the Islamic and Christian character of Jerusalem. Attaf emphasized Algeria's firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people and considered safeguarding Jerusalem an urgent priority. During the meeting, he also met with Jordanian King Abdullah II, where he reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to aiding the Palestinians and stressed the need to intensify international efforts to confront Israeli threats to the city.
