The Ministry of Social Security has confirmed that the Algerian community abroad can join the social security system. The National Fund for Social Insurance in Oran recorded, during the first half of 2026, the enrollment of 81 Algerian expatriates into the scheme, with 7 individuals benefiting from the health card. Conditions for joining include being an Algerian national registered at a diplomatic or consular mission, being under 55 years old, and actively engaged in a professional activity, whether as an employee or self-employed. The system offers benefits such as a health card and a retirement grant. Expatriates can apply through an online platform that facilitates remote procedures, aiming to enhance the rights of the community and improve their social services.
