Infantino's aims revealed by Morocco deal

FIFA President Gianni Infantino is facing an escalating crisis and increasing scrutiny following his attempt to push through a controversial deal with Morocco aimed at boosting his bid for a new term at the head of FIFA, scheduled for March 2027 in Morocco. The plan includes a promise to award Morocco the hosting of the 2030 World Cup final at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca, despite significant delays in its completion, while Spain supports its right to host the final. Infantino is also under fierce criticism after proposing to sell a share of World Cup broadcasting rights to private investors, which threatens the nonprofit status of the organization. He is facing opposition from European confederations and threats of boycotting his activities, amid a decline in internal support and growing calls for his resignation.
