Norwegian Union Calls for Infantino Resignation

The Norwegian Football Federation has called on FIFA President Gianni Infantino to resign immediately over the crisis surrounding the project to sell a share of the World Cup rights to private investors, which FIFA was forced to withdraw. The federation announced that the Executive Committee has withdrawn confidence from Infantino, believing that the repeated crises have undermined trust in his leadership. They are pushing for his resignation to enable global football to overcome divisions. Additionally, the federation will submit a new complaint to the Ethics Committee concerning three issues, which could increase pressure on Infantino ahead of the presidential elections in March 2027.
