Canary Group Urges Continued Support for Sahrawi

The Solidarity Association with the Sahrawis in the Canary Islands emphasizes the need to continue supporting the Sahrawi cause, which still awaits the completion of decolonization in accordance with international law, amid the ongoing suffering of the Sahrawi people in refugee camps and under Moroccan occupation. The head of the organization stated that the Sahrawi people face ongoing violations and media restrictions that prevent international delegations from monitoring the conditions on the ground. Meanwhile, the Moroccan occupation conducts systematic repression against civilians, journalists, and human rights defenders. The summer program for Canary family support also highlights efforts to strengthen community ties, reaffirming that the Sahrawi cause remains a decolonization issue requiring continuous international support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence.
