The National Technical Committee of the Algerian Football Federation intends to select the new head coach of the national team following the termination of the previous coach, Betković's, contract. Three candidates have been nominated, including Rafael Benítez, Félix Sánchez, and Tom Saintfiet. It is expected that the Federal Office will make the final decision in the coming period, with negotiations beginning over financial terms and the length of the contract, in preparation for the 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, in which the team will face Zambia, Togo, and Burundi.
