The Malian Prime Minister, Abdallah Maja, affirmed that there is no diplomatic rupture between Mali and Algeria. He pointed out that there is full convergence of views between the leaders of the two countries regarding the security crisis in the Sahel region. He explained that their historical ties and shared borders stretching over 1,300 kilometers strengthen the relationship between the two nations, emphasizing respect for sovereignty and the fight against terrorism. He assured that both countries are working to enhance cooperation to achieve stability and peaceful coexistence, noting the resumption of diplomatic missions after more than a year of tension following the downing of a Malian drone over Algeria. Maja also highlighted the similarities in the national principles of Algeria and Mali, mentioning the Algerian national anthem, and stressing the importance of strengthening fraternal relations. He indicated that Mali is looking to overcome the crisis and deepen cooperation with Algeria, blaming France for the failure of military interventions in the region, and reaffirming the need to support Algeria in facing security challenges in the Sahel area.
