German Minister criticizes Infantino's impact on football

The German State Secretary for Cultural Affairs, Wolfram Weimer, called for Gianni Infantino's resignation, President of the International Federation of Football (FIFA), due to his plans to sell the World Cup rights to private sector investors, which has seriously damaged the global image of football. Weimer considered that Infantino has lost the trust of the European community and urged him not to run for re-election, emphasizing that the sport is a culture and a public matter that must be respected, not a commodity for speculation. He also criticized the rising prices of match tickets and club shirts and urged the German Football Association to resist FIFA’s policies amid increasing international pressure on it.
