Shehbaz Sharif: Pakistan to mediate Iran-US
Pakistan affirms its continued efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States to enhance dialogue and achieve peace and stability, especially regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif indicated that his country is working to strengthen relations with Iran and maintains ongoing coordination with its officials, welcoming the efforts of other nations as well. Despite its success in mediating the signing of a memorandum of understanding last June, tensions and military operations have led to a breakdown in understanding, with Iran warning of a different response should military actions be repeated.
