Algeria Strengthens Regional Influence through Investment
Algeria is seeking to reinforce its position as a regional power in Africa through expanding its partnerships in the fields of digitalization and energy, leveraging its infrastructure capabilities and human resources to support development in the region. The initiatives include connecting Algeria with Niger via a strategic fiber optic network that enhances digital communication and broadens connection options between North Africa and the Sahel, as well as strengthening cooperation in electricity and gas with West African countries, including sharing expertise, developing infrastructure, energy, and local talents. Additionally, Algeria aims to develop young people's skills through multimillion-dollar training programs, aiming to boost their competencies and facilitate their integration into the labor market. This reflects its orientation to become a key partner in driving both economic growth and comprehensive development in the Sahel and West Africa.
