Legal group advises NYPD to contact ICE
A conservative legal group has released a guide instructing New York City police officers they can directly share immigration-status information with ICE despite local sanctuary policies. The guide emphasizes that federal law prohibits local authorities from restricting such communication and encourages officers to verify immigration status regardless of local directives. This comes as the Biden administration plans a significant ICE enforcement operation in the city, which is reaffirming its sanctuary status.
