Mexico shocked by Zacatecas clash
A massacre in Zacatecas resulted in the deaths of 10 men, with victims including a former mayor, police official, business owners, and others associated with industries targeted by extortion. The bodies were discovered in various locations across the state, some displayed threateningly to send a message from organized crime. Authorities suspect cartel involvement, and five suspects have been arrested amid ongoing investigations, but the motives and those behind the killings remain unclear. The event underscores the persistent violence and extortion issues affecting the region.
