Trump mandates new Smithsonian exhibit warnings
President Trump ordered signs outside the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History to inform visitors that some exhibits are inaccurate, as part of an effort to reshape the narrative of U.S. history. The move follows a White House report criticizing the museum for not presenting a “worthy” or inspiring account, and includes plans for corrective signage and a temporary exhibit. Smithsonian officials disputed the White House report, defending the institution’s work and accuracy.
