Delta planes alert after near miss in Atlanta
A Delta Airlines flight that aborted its landing at Atlanta's airport nearly collided with a departing aircraft, triggering anti-collision alarms in both planes. The incident occurred late Monday, after weather delays caused the diverted flight to return for another attempt, with the two planes coming within approximately 1,800 feet horizontally and 600 feet vertically. Both crews followed established procedures to ensure safety, and the FAA has announced it will investigate the event.
