California aims to boost EVs with rebates despite high gas prices
California is launching the MyFirstEV instant rebate program to promote electric vehicle adoption by offering $3,500 off new EVs and $1,750 off used models for first-time buyers. The initiative aims to increase EV sales amidst high gas prices and a lack of federal incentives, with funding from the state and automakers. Eligible vehicles include those priced under $50,000 for new models and $25,000 for used, primarily benefiting consumers who previously couldn't afford EVs. The program seeks to support both new and used EV markets, encouraging automaker production and greater access for diverse income groups.
