Democrats aim to halt Trump-associated crypto bank
Federal regulators granted preliminary approval for a cryptocurrency bank linked to President Trump and his family to operate a trust bank, allowing it to manage digital assets but not take deposits or make loans. This decision has prompted Senate Democrats, including Elizabeth Warren, to introduce legislation to prevent the president, vice president, and their immediate families from owning or controlling banks. Critics argue that this move could increase financial risks and promote corruption, amid ongoing concerns about Trump's substantial earnings from crypto-related ventures and his broader financial activities.
