Major review supports nicotine vapes for quitting smoking
A major review found that nicotine e-cigarettes are the most effective aid for quitting smoking, increasing success rates by about 60%. The study analyzed 80 trials with nearly 30,000 participants and concluded that regulated vaping is safer than smoking and more effective than traditional quitting methods or the anti-smoking pill cytisine. While long-term risks remain unclear, experts emphasize the importance of using approved devices, and health authorities warn that vaping should not be used by children or non-smokers.
