Joao Pedro Aims to Break Chelsea's Number Nine Curse
Joao Pedro made an immediate impact for Chelsea, scoring just 31 seconds into a 3-2 victory over Fulham in his first game under manager Xabi Alonso. Recently handed the coveted number nine shirt and a new contract until 2034, he aims to challenge the so-called curse associated with the club’s previous number nine wearers. Despite a history of struggles by high-profile forwards in that role, Pedro's performance and goal-scoring record have garnered praise, and supporters are hopeful he can break the negative pattern.
