Nepal faces major flash flood rescue
A severe flash flood in Nepal has resulted in at least eight confirmed deaths and widespread damage across northern settlements, with fears that the toll may rise. Rescue efforts involve helicopters, but high waters hinder access in some areas. The flood's cause is unclear, though similar deadly floods last year were linked to a glacial lake drain. Tibet has also been affected, with reports of “major casualties” and a mudslide at China’s Gyirong port prompting urgent search and rescue efforts ordered by Chinese authorities.
