NJ diner upset over inappropriate birthday message
A New Jersey woman was distressed after an upscale restaurant served her birthday dessert with an offensive message referencing her wheelchair. The incident occurred during her 29th birthday celebration, when the dessert was marked with "Happy Wheel Chair Birthday." The restaurant claimed the message resulted from a misunderstanding related to staff notes and apologized, but the woman dismissed their explanation, emphasizing her disability is not her identity. She called for awareness and respect for people with disabilities.
