Redskins merchandise available at Commanders shop
The article discusses the Washington Commanders selling merchandise featuring the former Redskins name and logo, despite the team’s official stance against reverting to the old nickname due to its controversial and offensive connotations. Merchandise such as T-shirts and jerseys bearing Redskins logos and names are available for purchase, with some items marketed as Commanders gear. The team maintains that these products are sold to preserve the Redskins trademark under legal requirements, even as they have adopted new branding, including an alternate helmet referencing Redskins nostalgia. The ongoing presence of Redskins branding raises questions about the franchise’s handling of its history and the cultural debates surrounding the nickname.
