The Justice Department announced it has disrupted a Chinese hacking operation linked to the group “QTFY,” responsible for cyber intrusions at U.S. federal agencies including NASA, the Federal Reserve, and the U.S. Senate. Authorities seized the domains used by platforms “QScan” and “QTRouter,” which facilitated the infection of IoT devices worldwide and concealed their Chinese origin. The operation involved a state-sponsored Chinese group employed by Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company, with efforts supported by the FBI to dismantle the platforms and prevent further attacks.
